just my imagination...and a few supplies
Sometimes it amazes me how imaginative kids can be. Today my girls wanted to make a pumpkin patch and scarecrow. So after hunting through the house, they took all their supplies and made their own little harvest in our backyard. Their imaginations soared as they played for the next three hours - making up stories, singing and dancing. They had so much fun together and it made my heart glad (along with my sanity) seeing them getting along so well....

The girls and I finally got out of the house today after being in a stomach bug stupor since Friday. This past weekend has been a complete haze to me. Let me rephrase that...thankfully this past weekend has been a complete haze to me.
So although I kept the girls home from school today, we did go out for lunch. And going out for lunch I mean we got in the car and went up to a drive-through window. Okay, so the girls and I had one In-n-Out burger split between the three of us, but it was delicious. Truly I think the drive there was the best part - beautiful sunny day, windows down, wind blowing through our hair, good music on the radio. I second what the girls said from the backseat - woohoo!

My girls love worms. This they did not get from me. I have a tolerance for them...just don't ask me to pick them up.
Yesterday we started a worm composting bin. My girls are over the moon, euphoric, joyous, tickled pink. Yesterday was pure bliss for them. Seriously, they were not just excited, they were jumping-up-and-down-grinning-from-ear-to-ear excited.

magic shades
The girls caught a glimpse of their first rainbow yesterday. They have been asking forever when they would see one, so to finally see it was just so exciting! The girls and I were coming back from breakfast when I saw one off in the distance. I quickly went to the side of the road and got the girls out of the car to see.
I picked up Bella first and tried to point it out to her, but she couldn't see it. Then I picked up Lola so she could try and see it. Well, she couldn't either. Of course I'm thinking, what the heck was in my coffee? I take off my sunglasses to get a better look and can hardly see the rainbow at all; put them back on and it's there again. So this time I put my sunglasses on the girls and then point it out and they are able to see it.
Lola - "Wow, momma! Your glasses are magic!"
I had just gotten my new sunglasses last week, so the girls really think my glasses are magic. I know it has something to do with my lenses that are polarized, but it's more fun to think of them as my magic shades!

Well, Bella's room is just about complete. Yeah! There are parts of it that I like a lot, and others that I don't care for so much....but Bella loves it, which is the most important thing. Actually, she LOVES the part that I don't like so much, so it's all good.
